Inventory items are various tools, artifacts, power-ups, potions, and other items you can use along your adventures. They are optional, and cost money, but can often be very beneficial in a critical moment.
Normally, you can hold up to 10 inventory items per level. So, for example at Level 5, you can carry up to 50 inventory items with you at any one time. However, you can increase this limit by spending Character Points into the “Max Inventory” misc option. Every 1 Character Point increases your maximum carrying limit by 1 additional inventory item. Certain classes, races, and specials may also increase this limit.
Unless specified otherwise:
- each inventory item may only be used once,
- the effects of the item are immediate,
- and using an item costs one action.
Inventory items cost money. You may purchase any inventory items you want when first creating your character. After that, you may only acquire new items when possible within the story: for example, when you visit a shop, loot a defeated monster, open a treasure box, etc.
You may sell your unused inventory items at 50% of their normal retail value.
Your Story Master may add custom inventory items to the list, make certain ones unavailable, and change the name or price of any item(s) as necessary for your particular story.
